Athena X-IFU

For the X-IFU project, I am currently responsible for producing complex components for the FPA DM1.1. My task is to ensure that these components are in perfect condition so that they can undergo the necessary surface treatments, after this they are ready for assembly and/or bonding. Together with a colleague, I carry out the assembly work for X-IFU, which takes place in our ISO 6 cleanroom.

Tasks

In addition to my work for X-IFU, I am also involved in making parts for other projects and providing support to colleagues with technical issues, involving cryostats, setups, or other hardware.

Recently, I have officially become an internship supervisor, which gives me the opportunity to contribute in training future instrument makers. I also collaborate with LiS on the elective course Instrumentation for Space, for which I teach the students together with a colleague.
