As a research instrumentmaker at SRON, I contribute to the development of high-precision scientific instruments used in space and atmospheric research. My work involves machining, assembling, and testing complex components that meet the extreme demands of space environments.
Working closely with engineers and scientists, I help transform innovative concepts into physical prototypes and final instruments. Precision, craftsmanship, and problem-solving are at the core of my role, whether I’m fabricating ultra-thin structures, integrating delicate optical components, or ensuring that every part meets exacting standards.
At SRON, we push the boundaries of technology to support missions that explore the universe, study Earth’s atmosphere, and advance fundamental physics. Being part of this process—where precision engineering meets scientific discovery—is both challenging and rewarding.
