Op vrijdag 23 en zaterdag 24 februari is de Blaauw Sterrenwacht op de Zernike Campus van de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen geopend voor de 42-ste Landelijke Sterrenkijkdagen. Deze worden jaarlijks aangestuurd door de Koninklijke Nederlandse Vereniging voor Weer- en Sterrenkunde (KNVWS). De weersvoorspellingen zijn gunstig en verwachten heldere avonden. Het gevarieerde programma wordt mede aangeboden door Kapteyn Instituut, Science LinX en SRON.
Er zijn rondleidingen in de sterrenwacht, lezingen door sterrenkundigen van het Kapteyn Instituut en interactieve experimenten in de Science LinX expositie. In het opblaasbare planetarium maken bezoekers een virtuele reis door het heelal. Voor kinderen zijn er doe- en knutselactiviteiten. Ze kunnen hun eigen ruimteschip bouwen met hulp van instituut voor ruimteonderzoek SRON en voor de jongsten vertellen Woezel & Pip over de sterren. National Stargazing Days in the Blaauw Observatory
On Friday, February 23 and Saturday, February 24 the Blaauw Observatory at the Zernike Campus of the University of Groningen is opened for the 42-nd National Stargazing Days. These are coordinated yearly by the Royal Netherlands Association for Meteorology and Astronomy (KNVWS). The weather forecasts are very good and expect clear evenings. Blaauw Sterrenwacht hosts various activities, supported by Kapteyn Institute, Science LinX and SRON.
The program includes guided tours in the observatory and lectures by astronomers from the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute. And there is a range of interactive experiments in the Science LinX exhibition. In the inflatable planetarium you may join on a virtual journey through the universe. Especially for children there are nice activities. They can design their own space mission with the help of space institute SRON. And for the youngest ones Woezel & Pip tell about the stars. The stargazing evenings last from 18.00 to 23.00 hours. Lectures, guided tours and planetarium shows are available in Dutch and English. Admission is free, registration is recommended.
