In Technology program line we develop enabling technology that leads to groundbreaking discoveries in Earth Observation and Astronomy domains. I am responsible for guarding the long-term view on the Technology program and managing its content. Ensuring international scientific profiling, acquiring new projects and leadership of the Technology Science Group are some of my responsibilities.
Background
After obtaining my PhD degree in Helicopter Crashworthiness from the Aerospace Engineering department of the Pennsylvania State University in 2009, I moved to the Netherlands and started my career at Philips Research. in 2012, I moved to TNO and started working as scientist focusing on material behavior at extreme conditions such as cryogenic temperatures. In 2020, I received the “Excellent researcher of the year” award at TNO. The same year, I started my academic part-time role at TU Delft, Aerospace Engineering, and still today continuing this role where I supervise multiple students. After working one year at M2I (Materials Innovation Institute) as Program Manager, I started at SRON in April 2024 as the Head of Technology.
